Fixed Income Settlements Associate – Investment Bank

CassonX are delighted to be recruiting for one of the biggest names in Global Banking. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and expanding team supporting the post trade lifecycle across global markets, with responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely settlement, effective reconciliation, exception management and strong operational controls across a range of fixed income products.

To be considered for this role, CassonX are looking to identify someone with experience of working within Settlements or a similar post trade environment, ideally within a Bank, Brokerage, Asset Manager or similar financial services firm. You will need exposure to the trade lifecycle, including trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliations, trade breaks and settlement fails. Experience across Fixed Income products such as Repo, Credit Bonds, Sovereign Debt or other fixed income instruments would be advantageous.

You will also be responsible for investigating Client Money discrepancies, monitoring liquidity and credit line usage, and overseeing SWIFT Tracker activity to ensure accurate and timely message flow between counterparties. There will be a strong focus on exception management, with you expected to investigate unmatched trades, settlement issues and operational breaks, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where appropriate.

The role will also involve extensive stakeholder engagement, working closely with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Technology teams, as well as maintaining strong relationships with custodians and counterparties. You will be expected to ensure all activity remains aligned with internal controls, regulatory requirements and relevant market standards, including CSDR. Alongside the core BAU responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives, system enhancements and wider strategic projects designed to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and reduce operational risk.
