CassonX are delighted to be recruiting exclusively for this nearly $1bn discretionary global macro fund, that specialises in all types of short term trading strategies in Cash Equity and Equity Derivatives asset classes. We are proudly recruiting for this role, as we have a long-term relationship with the current COO, who is looking to take some time off to support their young family.

For this great opportunity to step up into a COO role, CassonX are looking to identify a Head of Operations or Junior COO from an Asset Management or Hedge Fund type background, who would like to use this opportunity to springboard their career into a full COO position. They are willing to meet those who are proven at COO level, however, it must be understood that the role is “hands on” with Operational tasks, as well as strategic responsibilities. Candidates must have an appreciate for Operations, knowledge of Fund Accounting processes, and has ideally worked in Prime Before, or can at least navigate and influence Prime Brokers, and able to work with a very entrepreneurial CIO who sometimes needs guiding and advising. Candidates who already hold an EU passport are distinctly advantageous, but they are willing to explore those with UK passports and provide a visa also. You must have experience of trade flows, various fund structures/vehicles, managing services providers / vendors, and NAV processes to be considered. Demonstrable experience of proven leadership skills of people, processes, risk & controls, regulations, projects and change are also required. Candidates who are able to start quickly are preferred.

Whilst leading a small team of Operations staff that cover everything to do with trade lifecycles and shaddow NAV processes, you will be responsible for the continuous process improvements and managing service providers that a typical COO will cover. The role will also include all HR responsibilities for this team, and all internal projects (e.g. service provider change, new product launch, regulatory and legal changes).
